CarBahn software is designed to deliver the highest safe output possible. Smooth Power means software tuned correctly, not over-tuned. Excessive torque will break the tires loose, break the engine and drivetrain. Managed torque with a smooth delivery makes the car easier to drive thereby faster and more reliable. Most if not all our competitor’s tunes attempt to run too much boost, resulting in active knock corrections which causes surging during acceleration.
We tune our cars to be great street or track days cars, not for a maximum dyno number. We are road racers, and we want a power curve with at least as much HP as torque so the car is drivable. We expect our cars to run 100,000 plus miles after the car has been modified! We tune for low turbo lag, excellent drivability, and durability. We also keep all the smog equipment on the car. The cars that make more power typically have very short lives before they experience engine and/or drivetrain failure. They won’t pass a smog test and commonly have so much torque and turbo lag that the drivability is poor.
