S65 4.6L Racing Stroker Engine

The CARBAHN Autoworks 4.6L racing stroker S65 engine includes a billet crankshaft with an 83mm stroke that utilizes racing rod bearings. Over-sized forged pistons with a 94mm bore are used with forged Carrillo racing rods with CARR bolts.

We perform a valve job with new cam followers, timing chains, timing chain guides, timing chain tensioners and all associated seals and gaskets.

You may use the stock camshafts, or optionally choose our special, very high lift racing camshaft kit which also includes a conversion to solid lifters and high performance valve springs with titanium retainers.

This engine is excellent for BMW CCA, SCCA or NASA club racing.

Description

Steve Dinan has been building high performance and racing engines for BMW’s since 1977, winning 11 racing championships including 3 prototype championships and two 24 Hours of Daytona. The same engine shop that builds the racing engines also builds the street car engines; these talented engineers, machinists, and builders have built hundreds of engines from OEM street rebuilds to full-blown racing engines.

Refer to the graphs below for the power results without catalytic converters on 100 octane race gas and using J607 (the typical aftermarket correction).

This engine can run with the stock oiling system and wet sump, but for even more power and increased reliability, CARBAHN Autoworks recommends the use of our dry sump kit. This kit includes a Dailey Engineering billet oil pan and oil pump, plus additional pulleys and a drive belt.
